This master's thesis explores the challenges and strategies for promoting compliance and cooperative parenthood among separated parents involved in legal disputes. Given the complex dynamics accompanying separations and divorces, this work aims to identify effective social work interventions that contribute to conflict resolution and secure the well-being of the affected children. By applying theories such as systems theory, attachment theory, and conflict theory, as well as concepts of Motivational Interviewing and empowerment, the thesis provides a multidisciplinary framework for examining social work practices in this area. The research is based on a qualitative methodology, including guided interviews with social workers who have experience working with separated parents. The findings indicate that the application of systemic approaches, the promotion of empowerment, and the use of Motivational Interviewing techniques can contribute to improving the willingness of separated parents to cooperate. The thesis concludes with recommendations for social work, aiming at enhancing support for separated families. These include training social workers in specific intervention techniques, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and developing guidelines that support a child-centered and family-oriented approach in separation and divorce situations.
