In this thesis, the subject areas of knowledge management and impact orientation are integrated to form an impact-oriented knowledge management model outline. To achieve this, two research questions were addressed. The first aimed to identify state-of-the-art models in the fields of knowledge management and impact orientation. The second sought to develop an impact-oriented knowledge management model outline based on these identified models and demonstrate a practical application using two investigated organizations. Initially, the research fields of knowledge management and impact orientation are defined. This foundational step is followed by the identification of state-of-the-art models through an in-house developed review method. Additionally, five exploratory expert interviews were conducted to incorporate practical insights into the eclectic model outline, supplementing the theoretical findings from the review. Workshops were then held in the organizations AMS OÖ and pro mente OÖ to explore the practical application of the model outline. The findings from these workshops informed the development of implementation proposals, illustrated through exemplary applications of the model outline. The theoretical and practical findings underscore the significance of knowledge management and impact orientation, highlighting the ongoing and future challenges they present to organizations. By combining these topics within the model outline, organizations can systematically address these challenges. However, the impact-oriented knowledge management model outline represents just one possible approach to linking these areas. Depending on the organization, adjustments to the model outline may be necessary, or one of the established models from the examined fields may prove more suitable for a specific organization. In addition to the impact-oriented knowledge management model outline and the review model outline, an impact chain model outline was also developed as part of this thesis. These model outlines provide valuable starting points for future research projects.
