    Abstract

    Problem statement: The number of elderly and care-dependent individuals with a migration background in Austria is expected to increase by 2030, raising the demand for transcultural competencies in the healthcare sector.
    Objective: The aim of this work is to examine the teaching content related to transcultural competence within the Austrian curriculum for nursing assistant training and to compare it with the content of equivalent training programs in Germany, in order to derive potential action recommendations for Austria. Methodology: Through comprehensive literature research, the necessary qualifications for transcultural competence will be identified. After that, a structured qualitative content analysis and using deductive theoretical categories, the curriculum content will be checked and compared.
    Results: The Austrian curriculum for nursing assistant training includes many teaching contents for learning transcultural competence, and they are very detailed. The curricula of the two German federal states also include similar contents, but not with the same level of detail as Austria.
