Abstract

As part of a company, maintenance is often subject to stronger change processes than other areas. Many new technologies, techniques and methods are expanding the scope of maintenance tasks and making it a driver for achieving corporate goals. Increasing digitalization in particular plays an important role in this development, which must be used for maintenance. In addition to the new tasks of maintenance, the choice of maintenance strategy is becoming increasingly important, as progress opens up new possibilities and can thus increase the profitability of the company. This thesis aims to examine recent studies and provide suitable methods for choosing the right strategy. While studies and research often focus strongly on further development, the introduction and implementation in a company is often only rarely addressed. Particular emphasis is placed on a critical view that highlights the problems that frequently occur in practice and emphasizes the need for a holistic approach. This work is primarily intended for practitioners who deal with this topic and face challenges when implementing it in their company. The aim is to derive recommendations for action that will help them with successful implementation.
