The present master's thesis titled "Open Mind – Demokratie leben lernen“: Eine Prozessbegleitung an einer oberösterreichischen Pilotschule" aims to provide insights into the school development project and serves as a guide for expanding this project to other schools. The introduction of the thesis outlines the background and objectives of this work, followed by the formulated research questions. The cooperating partner and the project are introduced, with the framework of the Council of Europe for Democratic Competences and the process explained. The theoretical foundations of school development and school culture form the basis for understanding the topic. The empirical approach is then described, including the research questions and the methodology of the surveys. In the results, the findings are summarized, and the research questions are answered, considering the different phases of the process. Optimization potentials are highlighted in each phase to provide impulses for improving the project. In conclusion, this work can serve as a basis for expanding the project.
