Freight transport in Austria is growing steadily, with road freight transport in particular being responsible for the majority of GHG emissions. As a result, international, EU-wide and national climate targets and regulations have been formulated to counteract these emissions. These efforts, as well as the increasing importance of a company's sustainability for stakeholders, put pressure on companies to operate more sustainably and to take responsibility for the impact of their processes. However, the reporting of CO2-reducing initiatives often lacks transparency and accuracy of the information provided. In order to provide a satisfactory solution to this problem, this paper can be divided into three parts, whereby the first two parts were developed through extensive literature research. For the third part a project was set up at Logwin Solutions Austria GmbH. In the first part, the functionality of emissions calculators is analysed using the example of ETW. A special focus is placed on the functionality of the calculation of emissions and the associated standards. System limits resulting from the use of ETW are also dealt with in this part of the work. The second part covers the basic and guiding principles of reporting and data visualisation. Particular attention is paid to the requirements of reporting and the principles of a comprehensible visualisation. Finally, in the third part, the knowledge gained in the two previous parts is applied to a project at Logwin Solutions Austria GmbH. A process model is developed that demonstrates the reporting of CO2-reducing initiatives using a data visualisation tool and emissions calculator and thereby also enables its implementation. Findings and challenges in the preparation and finalization of this reporting tool are also mentioned in that part of the work. The results of this project show that the integration of a data visualisation tool and an emissions calculator for reporting CO2-reducing initiatives contributes significantly to improved communication with stakeholders. To gain this insight, cross-departmental feedback rounds were organized, in which the transparency and accuracy of the visualisation was put to the test. In addition, the visualisation is based on data calculated by ETW on the basis of recognised standards (GHG Protocol, EN16258, ISO14083, GLEC Framework) and thus contributes to the reliability and accuracy of the reporting tool. The application at Logwin Solutions Austria GmbH shows that the integration of a data visualisation tool and an emissions calculator enables transparent communication of CO2-reducing initiatives with correct and reliable key figures and values. This makes a significant contribution to improving CO2- reporting in transport logistics.
