    Abstract

    This master’s thesis examines how the user experience and search strategies of an
    AI chatbot and stores can be improved. In addition, various components in the
    user interface are analyzed. These are examined with regard to their usefulness
    in exploratory and targeted searches. As part of the study, various optimizations
    for interaction in the chatbot and online store were identified. The study shows
    that sample questions, interactive conversation and the provision of a dedicated
    exploratory area support the search in chatbots. Additionally, functions such as
    threads and personalization settings enhance the user experience of chatbots. The
    study also shows that the integration of an AI chatbot in online stores opens up
    a new way of shopping. The integrated chatbot significantly supports targeted
    searches in stores. The integrated chat shows potential for improvement in exploratory searches, as it was perceived as a supplementary tool. These results
    offer valuable insights into the further development of search systems in AI chatbots and online stores, which serve to improve user-friendliness.
