Abstract

Globalization and constantly changing market conditions pose diverse challenges for companies, especially in the realm of supply chains. The identification and evaluation of procurement risks, along with the selection of suitable logistics service providers, are crucial for the stability, efficiency, and resilience of supply chains. Despite this urgency, some companies still have gaps, whether in the qualitative assessment of service providers or in active risk management. The work is structured into three main parts: risk management, the selection process of logistics service providers, and the integration of both topics through a practical case study. A literature review is utilized to establish the fundamentals of risk management and the significance/selection of various logistics service providers. Additionally, a case study is conducted to examine the practical implementation of risk management in the selection process of logistics service providers. The integration of risk management into the selection of logistics service providers is vital to ensure resilient and efficient supply chains. A systematic analysis facilitates the understanding of various risk types in procurement and the importance of careful selection of logistics service providers. By identifying and managing potential risks early on, sustainable competitiveness is achieved. The implementation of suitable evaluation systems and continuous performance monitoring are essential to ensure optimal selection and management of logistics service providers.
