Abstract

This study conducts an indepth examination of the intricate relationship between biodiversity preservation and financial instruments within the AgroFood sector outside the European Union (EU). Through a meticulous literature review, it endeavors to elucidate key research inquiries, encompassing the definition of biodiversity, the efficacy of financial instruments, the influence of EU regulations, and the availability and effectiveness of instruments for facilitating biodiversity transformation. Methodologically, the research employs systematic searches across reputable databases like Scopus, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, and Google Scholar, utilizing carefully selected keywords to ensure comprehensive coverage of pertinent literature. Inclusion criteria are stringent, focusing on English language articles published within the last five years, while ethical considerations underscore proper citation practices and source acknowledgment. By evaluating various methodologies for biodiversity measurement and the effectiveness of financial instruments, as well as analyzing the impact of EU regulations, the study seeks to provide insights into sustainable finance practices in the AgroFood sector. Moreover, it delves into the pivotal role of intermediaries in biodiversityfocused financial initiatives, shedding light on their contribution to achieving conservation goals and fostering informed decision-making processes. Ultimately, this research aims to offer actionable recommendations for integrating biodiversity considerations into financial decision-making within the AgroFood sector, thus contributing to the broader objectives of biodiversity preservation and sustainable economic development.
