Abstract
The progressive digitalization of theatre is leading to fundamental changes influencedby digital artists’ work. Related work mainly refers to the effects of digitalization that
directly impact and transform a theatre performance. However, it remains unclear what
specific role digital artists or creators of digital elements play in the creation process of
such a performance and how they influence it. Therefore, four experts were interviewed
as part of this master’s thesis to gain insights into creating digital elements for use in
theatre. The analysis of the interviews revealed that digital artists can make a significant
contribution to the process of stage play development, bringing about comprehensive
changes both in the play itself and in the digital elements it includes. This underscores
that digital artists can significantly influence the quality and success of a play through
their contributions.
