Abstract

Modern knee prostheses must fulfil a wide range of requirements in order to offer users the best possible support in everyday life. Users expect the knee prosthesis to be as quiet as possible. Modern knee prostheses must therefore fulfill different acoustic specifications so that the knee prosthesis becomes more user-friendly. In addition to the functional and mechanical properties, the emitted sound level also contributes significantly to wearing comfort. The sound level emitted by prostheses must therefore be considered in the early stages of development. Therefore, the aim of the master thesis is to develop and construct an acoustic test bench for various knee protheses for the use in the technical department of the company Otto Bock Healthcare Products GmbH. Todothis, thetestbenchmustbedesigned correctly in the construction software CREO Parametric 9.0. F or thispurpose, detailed specifications of acoustic test benches are developed and presented. Once the components have been designed, various knee prostheses are to be measured in an acoustic chamber using microphones and acceleration sensors. The measurement results obtained in this way can then be compared with the data from a simulation software.
