This thesis explores the development and enhancement of the quality culture at Wacker Neuson, a manufacturer of construction equipment, with a particular emphasis on the Linz site. The quality culture in this context encompasses the shared values, behaviours, and standards aimed at ensuring and continuously improving the quality of products and processes. The study specifically focuses on how particular methods, tools, and processes are firmly embedded within this quality culture, concentrating on the integration of the '7-Step Logic' from lean management, tailored to meet the specific needs and existing structures at Wacker Neuson. The research questions centre on the implementation of the “7-Step Logic” to systematically enhance quality, as well as an analysis of the current methods, tools, and processes in use. The first part of the thesis reviews existing literature on lean management and quality culture, presenting the '7-Step Logic' as a methodological framework for optimisation. To assess the current quality methods and processes, an empirical study is conducted, which includes a two-hour workshop followed by an online survey targeting managers. The workshop serves to document and systematically categorise the methods, tools, and processes currently employed in relation to the '7-Step Logic.' The online questionnaire then evaluates the maturity level of these documented methodologies to ascertain their state of implementation and identify potential areas for improvement. The findings of this master's thesis highlight the necessity of systematic and consistent documentation of quality methodologies to achieve a zero-defect culture and enhance customer satisfaction. Drawing on the insights gained, the thesis proposes measures for the further development of the quality culture, focusing on the efficient and consistent application of the '7-Step Logic.' These optimisation strategies will assist Wacker Neuson in maintaining high-quality standards over the long term while fostering sustainable quality awareness within the organisation.
