Lean management is a concept that is becoming more and more established and important in today's business world. It is used in both office and production environments. However, the level of implementation of lean management is often limited. This is because the topic is often not sufficiently addressed, and the challenges of implementation are perceived as too great. This paper provides the reader with a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges that can arise when introducing lean management. A special focus is placed on the implementation in industrial companies. The aim of this thesis is to provide a basic understanding of lean management in both office and production environments. The individual methods that are particularly useful at the beginning of the introduction of lean management are discussed. The definitions, the necessary framework conditions and the functionalities of the methods are described in detail. This should make the first hurdles in the introduction of lean management visible. It also analyzes how these methods affect the way employees work and key performance indicators such as cost, time and quality. It discusses how lean management can increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve employee satisfaction. Another important aspect covered in this paper is the selection criteria for the targeted use of lean methods. It explains how companies can select the most suitable lean methods for their specific needs. Overall, this work provides a comprehensive overview of lean management and provides valuable insights for organizations interested in implementing lean methods or improving their existing lean practices. It emphasizes that successful implementation of lean management requires careful planning, ongoing support from subject matter experts, and continuous development. It also recognizes that all employees are an essential component and that their involvement and commitment are critical to the success of lean management.
