Motivation and problem definition Through my work for the umbrella brand AUSTRIAN LOGISTICS, I use the website on a daily basis. It is a key tool for addressing potential applicants and publishing up-to-date information about the umbrella brand's activities. For active members, brand partners, and multipliers, it also serves as an important interface to the umbrella brand. In order to meet current technical requirements, the website was redesigned in 2025. Therefore, now is a good opportunity to test user-friendliness in practice and identify any usability stumbling blocks. This is highly relevant, as a modern, easy-to-use website contributes significantly to the success of a company. Content structure and methodology The work is divided into four chapters. The first three chapters are based on a comprehensive literature review that summarizes current scientific findings on the topic of digital platform usability. Empirical data is collected in the fourth chapter. The think-aloud method was used for this purpose, supplemented by a short interview with the test subjects. The evaluation is based on the experiences and assessments of five test subjects who evaluated the AUSTRIAN LOGISTICS website. The aim was to derive concrete suggestions for improvement in order to optimize usability in a targeted manner. Concrete results of the work The empirical results show that the website is generally user-friendly and modern in design, which is also due to its recent redesign. Nevertheless, the tests revealed potential for optimization. Several test subjects would have liked to see the company profiles sorted alphabetically, as the current display was found to be confusing. Some test subjects also found the loading times to be somewhat long, which caused irritation in some cases. In addition, it became apparent that certain information should be placed more prominently on the home page to avoid frustration when searching for information. Overall, it can be said that although the website was rated positively by the test subjects, it could be made even more efficient and user-friendly through targeted adjustments.
