    Abstract

This master's thesis is dedicated to investigating the digital workplace for bank sales employees. The central goal is to identify the specific requirements of sales employees in a bank and to derive well-founded recommendations for the design of a digital workplace that enhances both perceived efficiency and employee satisfaction. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the fundamental concepts and definitions of the digital workplace. Central topics such as collaboration, training, compliance, mobility, individuality, and participation are thoroughly analyzed. The requirements derived from the literature form the basis for the subsequent empirical investigation. The empirical investigation was conducted through a quantitative online survey. The aim of this survey was to examine the relevance and prioritization of the requirements identified in the literature from the practical perspective of the respondents. The analysis results show that employees particularly value flexible work models, remote work, and digital collaboration with colleagues and customers. Compliance with security and compliance standards is also considered important. In contrast, aspects such as autonomy and individuality, which are often deemed particularly important in other contexts, play a relatively minor role in this specific environment. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine which factors most significantly influence employee efficiency and satisfaction. The analysis revealed that collaboration with colleagues and customers, as well as workplace flexibility, have significant positive effects on both variables. Compliance is seen as necessary for the acceptance of the digital workplace but does not positively contribute to perceived efficiency. Based on these findings, concrete recommendations were developed for banks. These recommendations aim to design digital workplaces in a way that best supports the collaborative and mobile work needs of employees while ensuring the required compliance standards are met. Such design aims not only to enhance employee satisfaction but also to make their work processes more efficient.
