Abstract

The primary focus of the cooperative FFG research project called “Modularer Fragebogen zur Nutzerinnenzufriedenheit in Gebäuden” (=”MOFNUG”), which started in June 2013, is the preparation of a modular designed online questionnaire. Single modules represent important issues for the occupants’ satisfaction like visual comfort, thermal comfort, psychological and physiological wellness beside questions according to the use of the building [1]. The involved research facilities are four Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences (FH Kufstein Tirol, FH Vorarlberg/Dornbirn, FH Wiener Neustadt/Wieselburg und FH OÖ F&E GmbH/Wels). Each of them covers single issues according to their particular specialist focus. Occupants‘ satisfaction is the most important target when optimizing the quality of a building. The main problems are difficult measurements, which are partially not possible and not standardized questionnaires. A detailed literature research should collect prevailing research results and identify previous approaches. This presentation responds especially to thermal comfort and the special features concerning the occupants’ satisfaction in retirement homes. With the “klima:aktiv” criteria the quality assurance of those facilities is discussed. For the first time the new “klima:aktiv” criteria catalog for new built “Geriatriezentren bzw. Pflegeheime” (residential care home for the elderly) was published in March 2014. Compared to the catalog for office buildings essential modifications are mentioned. Furthermore first results for the literature research and the modular questionnaire are presented. On the example of retirement homes in Wels the application of results is discussed.
