Abstract

This article is extending the work of Faraz, Woodall, and Heuchenne (2015) and evaluating the conditional performance of the Maxwell control chart (V chart) in situations when parameter is estimated. The results are indicating that a very large Phase I data will be required to achieved the desired in-control average run length. The adjusted control charting constants are determined by a simple modification for the recommendations of realistic Phase I samples. The proposed adjusted structure of V chart guaranteed the in-control performance to be at least a specified value with a certain probability. Also, the adjustment gives a little adverse effect on the out-of-control performance of the V chart.
