Abstract
MRP and KANBAN are two of the most common approaches to production planning and control; the one or the other is implemented in many manufacturing companies. In the present contribution, these approaches will be compared to production planning by means of the time continuous Integrated Scheduling Problem which recently was introduced by Jodlbauer. The comparison of the three methods is based on simulation, using our recently developed environment for automated generation of simulation models.
