Scouting the Future of Retail (SCORE) - A Corporate Foresight based Retail Research Methodology

Abstract

Due to globalisation, international orientation of companies, technical innovations and digitalisation, trade has been subject to constant and massive changes over the last decades. A central challenge is to make the future of trade tangible and to prepare it in the form of concrete scenarios for strategic innovation planning. Scouting the Future of Retail (SCORE) is an initiative of the Network of Excellence Logistics - logistikum.RETAIL, which builds on the Corporate Foresight approach to provide scientifically sound support for future research in the retail sector. The central results of the SCORE initiative are the SCORE meetings, the SCORE platform and a constantly growing SCORE community.
