Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a novel visual dialogue system tool for the Unity game engine, aimed at offering a more accessible and efficient tool for indie developers and developers with limited programming experience. The tool offers a node-based interface and implements Text Customisation and Interactive Editor Playback, permitting quicker feedback cycles for iterative development to both improve usability and potentially reduce overall development time. The paper addresses both the results from user and expert evaluations as well as specific implementation decisions due to engine limitations.
