Abstract
As stated in the ITF Call 2019 for Extended Abstracts, the role of connectivity is essential for
global value chains and logistics will be key for maintaining sustainable transport solutions.
Connectivity and sustainability are two essential aspects of truck platooning, one of the first
close-to-market applications for semi-automated freight transport. This contribution reviews
relevant aspects, in terms of missing links, related to the real world applicability of semiautomated
truck platooning. In doing so, the review especially focuses on connectivity and
sustainability.
