Abstract
In this paper a new thermal imaging system based on a silicon CCD-camera is presented. Aim of the project is to monitor the surface of parts during a thermo-chemical heat treatment process as nitriding. The measurement system is based on the principles of ratio pyrometry known from non-contact temperature measurements. Two images of the same scene taken in slightly different spectral bands are used to determine the temperature of the surface. A black body radiator is used as reference for calibration of the camera-system. To enhance accuracy of the system correction of quantum efficiency and non linearity of the camera are corrected
