Mechatronic Systems as Enablers for Circular Economy: Selected Scenarios

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The European Commission proposed the first package of measures to accelerate the transition to a circular economy, as announced in the Circular Economy Action Plan. The Action Plan is in line with the EU’s 2050 climate neutrality target under the Green Deal.
This applies to many areas in industry and requires a lot of activities. A variety of technical systems and solutions are used to close the material cycle, with mechatronics playing an important role as an interdisciplinary discipline. In this context we also speak from EcoMechatronics. In the context of this paper, various use cases in different stages of the product life cycle are considered.
