Abstract

To solve the immense congestion and emission problems in urban areas and catchment areas, various transport systems are offered to citizens. Carpooling, for example, is one way to reduce congestion and emissions. In order to create a ridesharing service, it is first necessary to find out what is needed to achieve high usage of the service by users. Furthermore, a technical implementation with all necessary functions must be published. In Upper Austria, an app was developed as part of the DOMINO lighthouse project, which allows users to access various intermodal transport services. Furthermore, the use of the app is intended to push the achievement of climate goals. In this paper, project results are presented to give an overview of lessons learnt, challenges and evaluation methodology of MaaS implementation in Austria.
