Abstract

An overview is given on the effects of both a skewed tail pulley and a conical tail pulley on the lateral belt movement on a belt conveyor. A simulation method for calculating the lateral running behavior of the conveyor belt using a skewed conical tail pulley is introduced. The information given can be applied to predict the run-out of the conveyor belt when considering certain configurations and also for assessing the influence of certain parameters relating to lateral running behavior.
