N2 - This paper highlights the applicability of novel visualization types for the representation of multidimensional data. For this purpose, multidimensional visualizations for several dimensions (Sankey, Sunburst and Treemap visualization) as well as for several attributes (Parallel Coordinates Plot, Heatmap) are presented. For this purpose, on the one hand, more than 100 practitioners from the financial sector were interviewed about challenges in dealing with Big Data, and on the other hand, several online experiments as well as experiments by means of eye tracking technology were conducted. This approach allows to derive and summarize a comprehensive judgment about the usability as well as the advantages and disadvantages of these Big Data visualizations.
