Abstract

Identification and assessment of risks, that launch threats at information security (information security risk analysis, ISRA) is central to numerous systems. Novel technologies and developments such as "Industry 4.0" or the "Internet of Things" (IoT) as well as increasing complexity in IT systems in generell pose new challenges to risk analysis and risk management. The article discusses the particular requirements on ISRA in complex systems and addresses the question how risk analysis of IT and information security may be handled in future. Which approaches can be adopted and enhanced, where is need of new solutions and how can they look like?
