Harmonising the interface between academic and administrative mind-sets: Challenging but Feasible?

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapter

Abstract

This book chapter presents a case study of an Austrian University of Applied Sciences (UAS) with the aim to shed light on the personal experiences and subjective perceptions of administrative HE managers in terms of cooperation of faculty and administration. Based on the theories of competing organisational logics and organisational ambidexterity and its potential to combine logics, the study reveals challenges of administrative managers in HE context and potential bridging links between faculty and administration. The results provide indications for potentials to harmonise the interface of academia and administration in HE everyday world.
