Abstract

There is a broad consensus that university education requires new teaching formats that reflect the demands of the future. While universities are good in applying traditional innovation management curricula, they struggle to design and apply new forms of teaching future skills that go beyond traditional approaches. In this contribution, we present the KEU format, which has been designed to develop future skills on a master level. Based on the findings of its implementation in the master’s program SCM, the format shows to be highly effective for solving complex problems from students’ and lecturers’ perspective. The paper concludes with learnings and recommendations for educators also aiming to include future decision-making skills into existing courses and structures. With our work, we hope to foster the implementation of innovative teaching formats and contribute to contemporary approaches to teaching future skills in tertiary education.
