Abstract

The paper describes the AIRFINE technology developed by VAI for the purpose of reducing the amounts of noxious waste emissions by sintering plants below the regulatory thresholds (submicron particles, aerosols, dioxin and furan, HCl, HF, heavy metals, SOx). This process allows also to separate, recuperate and recycle by-products of the sintering plant. This contributes not only to the reduction of production costs, but also to the increase of the productivity of this kind of installation.
