Abstract

Due to the horizontal distance between the cameras taking stereo images, the position of specular reflections on objects differ in the two images of a stereo pair. In this paper we propose an algorithm to merge such stereo images in order to filter specular reflections by utilizing different types of disparity maps. Results show that merging stereo images reduces specular reflections by 75% in average.
