Exploring Generative AI and Motion Capture

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

This paper examines the advantages and limitations of generative artificial intelligence tools, particularly regarding creative freedom. The animated music video Intertwined (directed by Lena Leitgeb, Katharina Arbeithuber, and Lea Obermair), produced during the fourth semester at the Universty of Applied Sciences Upper Austira, serves as a case study for this analysis. The research focuses on the flexible aspects of artificial intelligence-driven workflows, with a particular emphasis on the customization possibilities of Stable Diffusion 1.5 algorithms. Additionally, technical aspects of the production process are highlighted, comparing a workflow that integrates motion capture technology with video-based artificial intelligence workflows. This paper provides an overview of artificial intelligence applications in digital content creation and their influence on production processes.
