Abstract
The present study was carried out by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (Fachhochschule Oberösterreich) and commissioned by the National Network of Youth Information Centres in Austria (Bundesnetzwerk Österreichische Jugendinfos, short BÖJI), with the kind support of the Federal Chancellery, division Families and Youth (Bundeskanzleramt Sektion Familien und Jugend). The aim was to gain insight into the research behaviour of Austrian adolescents. To this end, 19 young people (aged 12-16) from four federal states were asked to carry out research tasks on a laptop or mobile phone. The search processes were documented and analysed. Subsequently, the young people were interviewed about their approach by means of a qualitative guided interview.
