Abstract

In the past 20 years the field of logistics and how it is interpreted has changed dramatically. As it is true for all management disciplines measurement is essential for success. In the past several logistics performance measurement concepts, with very diverse dimensions and metrics defining logistics performance, were created. This article presents a process how a contemporary logistics performance measurement system measuring intralogistics performance within a company can be developed. Taking into account the broad perspective of modern logistics a process for measuring logistics performance in different areas of a company like production, procurement, distribution, warehousing and transportation was designed.
