Abstract

In-situ µCT measurements of short fiber reinforced plastic (SFRP) tensile specimens are compared with microstructural finite element (FEM) analyses of CT-based models of representative volume elements (RVE) embedded in “global” models with homogenized (Mori-Tanaka) material. Detailed results of stresses and strains are compared to the failures occurring in tensile tests.
