Abstract

Organizations are increasingly investing in social collaboration and communication platforms for integrated exchange of information within their organization and in their supply chain. By using technologies and concepts of "Enterprise 2.0" information and communication processes can be supported and relevant information can be made available for the target audience. Enterprise 2.0 subsumes the use of interactive and collaborative Web 2.0 technologies, concepts and applications for use within and between companies. The objective of this paper is to present an integrated approach for implementing Enterprise 2.0 platforms by reflecting the used methods and selected results of two pilot projects with Austrian mid-sized companies. In the pilot projects (i) knowledge management, (ii) communication, (iii) innovation management, and (iv) sharing of real time information were identified as areas for action. The paper discusses the tools and methods used to contribute to these areas. With it, it provides insight into the main results of the success factor analysis, the perpetual beta implementation and the evaluation using eye tracking.
