Abstract

The EU-project SEE_Innova (01/13-12/14) aimed at the exchange of experiences and networking in the field of assisting technologies for eldery in South-East Europe. The consortium consisted of ten project partners from eight south-eastern European countries. The partnership was multi-sectorial following the innovative approach of the quadruple helix including public authorities, business, research and end users. On the one hand the project results benefit from these various point of views and extensive possibilities of networking. On the other hand it highlighted the different stages of development and social challenges in each participating region and country. Moreover, numerous Good Practices were identified and a joint action plan has been created, which contains numerous recommendations for the development and implementation of AAL-based solutions. The project also focused on the support of young researches and (inter)national cooperation and networking of relevant stakeholders such as SMEs, policy makers and experts in the field of AAL as well as on the transferability of single ideas or whole concepts on other regions and sectors.
