Abstract

Open innovation is a paradigm well established in a business related context. To improve innovation activities in a regional context a radically open innovation environment stimulates business and social innovation. This paper investigates how such an innovation process can be supported by open innovation software. Therefore an extensive analysis of existing software tools is combined with qualitative information from interviews with leading members of an Austrian radically open innovation organization. The final result of the current paper is a set of specific guidelines and recommendations which have to be taken into consideration when developing a software-based tool for supporting the regional, radically open innovation process.
