Project Details
Description
Short-haul flights are ecologically questionable and often uneconomical, which is why there are co-operations between airlines and railways as a substitute for hub feeder services. However, these are often not sufficiently attractive to utilise their full potential. From the airline's point of view, there is a concern about losing passengers if its own international network is not supplied by local feeder flights. TerminalAufSchiene2 aims to intensively research solutions based on the ideas of an exploratory study in order to be able to transfer baggage drop-off to the train, which could significantly reduce the minimum connecting time between train and flight and generate a significant boost in attractiveness at various levels, allowing airlines to replace feeder flights without worrying about losing passengers.
