RING - Realization of a knowledge platform for "direct current system technology and high voltage storage technology for sustainable and renewable electrical energy supply".

Project Details

Description

DC technology as an important key technology for sustainable and renewable electrical energy supply offers (compared to the usual AC technology) significant advantages such as the lower-loss transmission of electrical energy (sustainable energy transmission and distribution) as well as the possibility of direct integration of energy storage (hydrogen and battery systems). The implementation of DC technology requires the development of new technologies, the establishment of product development competence and the transfer of knowledge to the domestic economy, especially in the border region of Bavaria / Upper Austria where numerous companies deal with the topics of electrical energy supply and energy storage. Their competitiveness and innovative strength must be sustainably strengthened and expanded in order to be able to assert themselves and continue to grow in the global future market of energy technology.
The aim of the project is to establish a knowledge network, a cooperation platform, and the development of a key technology, electrical insulation technology, as the basis for new products in high-voltage direct current storage technology.
