ReBi - Resource-efficient component innovations with additive manufacturing processes in the Bavarian and Austrian border region

Project Details

Description

The development of innovative products, for example by using lightweight design, is mandatory to
achieve a high sustainability of resources for industries like aerospace, automotive or machine and
system seller. One possibility to handle this challenging topic is the application of additive
manufacturing (AM). The layer-wise manufacturing process allows a high freedom in designing parts
and therefore high opportunities in performing lightweight design. Problem of new or high-tech
technologies is, that small and midsize entities (SME) do not have to capacity of money or time to get
in touch with this topics or to apply them for there products. The methods and ways of how to use
this technology for realization of new and resource-efficient parts shall be shared for SME in this
region to improve there knowledge and offer them new potentials for new product innovations.
