Quinwalo+: Knowledge for Inland Waterway Transport

Project Details

Description

The “Schifferbörse zu Duisburg-Ruhrort e.V.” association, which is managed by the Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce, is committed to promoting inland navigation in Germany and, with Quinwalo Plus (Qualification Inland Waterway Logistics), is pursuing the goal of educating future specialists and managers about the advantages and opportunities of inland navigation. The Quinwalo Plus project aims to give young people a better understanding of logistical interrelationships in the waterway system and to get them excited about inland shipping and its history, role and future. The project objective of the cooperation between the Schifferbörse zu Duisburg-Ruhrort e.V. and the Logistikum is the creation of didactically prepared and demand-oriented teaching and learning materials on the subject of inland waterway logistics, which are to be made available to the general public on a specially developed learning platform (BiWAS). The Quinwalo Plus project is intended to supplement the learning content in school education in Germany in order to eliminate the lack of high-quality teaching and learning materials and to enable the adequate transfer of knowledge about inland navigation.
