EDEN - Emergency Detection for Elevator Networks

The aim of the EDEN project is to use sensors and cameras to automatically detect emergencies in elevators, evaluate them in order to put them into context and take appropriate action. Based on the identified context, the system decides which persons need to be informed and which next steps should be done. For example, emergencies in private homes must be treated differently than those in public institutions or in security-related buildings such as airports. The planned developments should create a safe environment, as well as to help people with fears of elevators.
