DigiTrans - Freight transport in Upper Austria » automated - networked - mobile «

In the project "DigiTrans", the establishment and operation of a test environment consisting of research, development and evaluation structure for automated driving in Austria is explored.

The DigiTrans project focuses on...
- the exploration of demand and use cases with the application of commercial and special vehicles,
- the use of automated vehicles in the area of logistics hubs: e.g. Ennshafen, company premises
- the joint infrastructure use of test environments for autonomous driving (test region Austria-North, other national and international, e.g..: Freeway section on the A9 in Bavaria, Karlsruhe metropolitan area in Germany, Gothenburg in Sweden, Styria).

Declared goals of DigiTrans are to conduct demand analyses in the areas of logistics and vehicle technology with the involvement of stakeholders for the goal-oriented further development of use cases, as well as the consideration of the necessary framework conditions for the conception of a test environment for autonomous driving. The DigiTrans exploratory study is thus doing the groundwork to enable economical operation of the test environment and to further expand Austrian expertise in the mobility sector.
