Description
Efficient transport packaging should withstand the stresses of transportation, handling, and storage while optimizing volume to reduce costs and environmental impact. The project includes a market analysis of various eco-friendly packaging solutions, including on-demand, alternative material, and reusable solutions, to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of transport packaging. A total of 41 solutions were identified and evaluated, with considerable variation in market readiness. In the work package Market-Oriented Sustainability, the marketing of eco-friendly packaging solutions was analyzed in detail. Through a representative online survey with an implemented conjoint analysis, consumers were surveyed on sustainability communication and the evaluated packaging solutions. Based on the project results, actionable recommendations were developed on how to most effectively communicate the use of sustainable packaging solutions to customers.
