Project Details
Description
Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers immense opportunities and potential in the education sector to transform and enrich the way teaching and learning takes place. This potential extends across a wide range of applications, with ChatGPT currently at the forefront of discussions. At the same time, the education sector faces challenges in integrating AI in education in order to realize this potential - while at the same time (well) managing various risks. Based on this, the proposed research project aims to investigate the usage of AI technologies, especially ChatGPT, by students at different universities. It aims to define usage profiles to provide guidance for teachers and to derive recommendations for the responsible use of AI in higher education. The project uses an explorative research design, the results of which will be published in a research report and scientific publications. It is planned to integrate the results into teaching and to prepare a research proposal for the development of an interdisciplinary SmartLab for AI at universities. The results of this project will thus serve as a basis for further research and cooperation in order to promote the use of AI in higher education in a responsible and competent way.
