Materials with defined properties are the basis for highly specialised applications as well as daily needed products. The overall process chain from the material selection and modification to the completed part is studied at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Polymers, composites, metals and surface coatings as well as the non-destructive testing methods 3D X-ray computed tomography and active thermography are the focus of research.
