Activity: Talk or presentationOral presentation

Description

Industry laments: international, experienced, and employable talents are scarce and universities should supply those graduates to the job market. However, skills gaps on the tertiary level cannot be tackled by the universities alone. Industry has to to play their role and take responsibility as well. To do so, companies must understand the university system, connect via the right gateways, and provide appropriate opportunities. But reality shows a lack of knowledge, missing structures, high barriers and reluctance on the companies side. Some suggestions and good practice are proposed to better connect universities and businesses in order to facilitate industry’s contribution to educate the skillful, experienced and knowledgeable employees that are needed.
