Description
Today’s world is moving at an increasingly fast pace. The industrial landscape has experienced many major changes over the past decades. Study offers and curricula that were successful ten years ago are no longer up to date. This environment requires higher education institutions to adapt their offers in order to address the market’s needs and produce employable graduates. One of the keys to graduate employability is practice-oriented education. Many institutions are thus including practice-related aspects such as co-ops in their curricula. However, providing practice-oriented education requires not only effective but also efficient (and thus sustainable) university-industry cooperation. Using the example of their own institution the speakers will present ways of cooperating with industry on different levels – from basic contacts to strategic partnerships in research and teaching. The speakers will share experience and best practice examples of sustainable and effective university-industry cooperation that ensure hands-on education for engineering students. The United Nations’ “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) focus on aspects like “Quality Education”, “Decent Work and Economic Growth” as well as “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”.
