Intercultural Competencies among Students at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria To foster intercultural competencies among students is the main goal of two innovative degree programmes offered at two campuses of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria: Social Work (Campus Linz) and Global Sales and Marketing (Campus Steyr). In 2012, the Platform for Intercultural Competencies was founded at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. This paper introduces a research project, which aims at (1) defining and conceptualizing intercultural competencies; (2) developing and piloting a questionnaire based on the theoretical ideas; and (3) longitudinally investigating the effectiveness of the two programmes.
